Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi mourns the death of Ustad Zakir Hussain and pays tribute to him: 'He brought the tabla to the global stage'

Legendary tabla artist Zakir Hussain Passed away on December 15 at the age of 73. His family revealed in a statement that he died of idiopathic complications pulmonary fibrosis This is a rare and progressive lung disease. He was hospitalized for the past two weeks and was moved to the intensive care unit after his health deteriorated. After his death, Hussein left a huge legacy. Many celebrities have paid tribute to the legend.
Prime Minister Modi Now also expressed condolences for his death and shared a long post on X (formerly Twitter) to pay tribute to him. The Prime Minister wrote: “Deeply saddened by the passing away of the legendary Tabla Master, Ustad Zakir Hussain lucky. He will be remembered as a true genius who revolutionized the world indian classical music. He also brought the tabla to the global stage, captivating millions with his unparalleled rhythms. Through this, he seamlessly blended Indian classical tradition with global music, thereby becoming a symbol of cultural unity.
He further added: “His iconic performances and soulful compositions will help inspire generations of musicians and music lovers. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends and the global music community.”
Zakir’s family further requested privacy in their statement, adding: “His prolific work as a teacher, mentor and educator left an indelible mark on countless musicians. He hoped to inspire the next generation to go further.” Far.
