A targeted shooting happened at Surrey, Canada where Yuvraj Goyal 28 was shot dead by an Indian-origin man from Ludhiana, Punjab. I came to Canada on a student visa in 2019 and recently obtained Canadian permanent resident (PR) status. At 8:46 am on June 7, Goyal, a sales man executive, was found dead after police responded to a shooting in the 900 block of 164th Street.
Mr Rajesh Goyal is known for his firewood business while Shakun Goyal is a housewife. This according to RCMP spokesperson Corporal Elenore Sturko with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). Investigators are still trying to determine why he was killed.
Four suspects have been detained following the incident. Keilon Francois, 20 years old from Ontario; Sahib Basra, 20 and Manvir Basram, 23 both from Surrey; Harkirat Jhutty also aged 23 and from Surrey have all been charged with first-degree murder.
“While preliminary evidence suggests this was a targeted shooting, investigators are working to determine the cause of Mr. Goyal’s killing; Mr. Goyal is described as “a community member of 28 years who had reportedly never come into contact with police,” said Sheriff Timothy Pierotti.
Accordingly, Sgt Tim Pierotti announced that on June 8th Manvir Basram who resides in Surrey (23), Sahib Basra living also in Surrey (20), Harkirat Jhutty domiciled in surrey as well (23), and Keilon Francois of Ontario (20) were charged with Count 1 .
