‘Indian 2’, directed by Shankar and starring Kamal Haasan as Senapathy, brings the legendary actor’s highly anticipated movie to a record number of screens, which is released in theaters on July 12. The expected sequel did not meet with positive reviews and its box office collections went slow from day two. Indian 2 which had an opening weekend of Rs 107 crore was well supported by family audiences and it is said that the film’s weekday occupancy was around forty percent. Saknielke reveals that India 2 made INR14 crores at the box office while Tamil Nadu alone contributed more than half of this income.
In just four days, “Indian 2” grossed a total worldwide collection of RS1.2 billion thereby making it the highest-grossing film for Tamil movies in 2024 as well as being one of the biggest hits ever made in Indian cinema starring Kamal Hassan. The feature film also stars Siddharth Bobby Simha, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani, Shanker Vivek, Gulshan Grover, Nedumudi Venu in supporting roles playing major roles in it too; moreover Anirudh Ravichander composed music for it although even his rocking background score turned out to be below expectations for people watching notes after notes.
