The best way for Team India to silence its critics and detractors is to perform well in games Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) Tour of Australia, if it fails, may see some farewells – says former Pakistan batsman Simple Ali.
The Indian holders will begin their defense of BGT in a five-match Test series, starting with the tour-opening Test in Perth on November 22.

“Aapne apni Performance se sab ko chup karana hai (You have to silence everyone with your performance),” Basit advised the Indian team in a video on his YouTube channel. “Par agar aap yeh nahi kar paye toh mera khayal hai youth foursome tata-bye ho jayenge Champions Trophy ke baad (If they fail to do that, then I think 3-4 players will be dropped), this may include (Head Coach) Gautam Gambhir.

India’s regular captain Rohit Sharma is likely to be unable to play the first Test at BGT as his wife is pregnant with their second child. In Rohit’s absence, his designated deputy Jasprit Bumrah will lead the team in Perth.
