New Delhi: chief minister of karnataka Siddaramaiah questioned locayota police Wednesday, a case involving the distribution of property mysore urban development authority (Change) Website.
CM Siddaramaiah said, “I have answered all the questions asked by the Lokayukta police in the MUDA case.”
Lokayota police have summoned Siddaramaiah, the first accused in the case, for questioning.
A Lokayukta official said a team led by Lokayukta police chief TJ Udesh conducted the interrogation, which “lasted for about two hours”.
The case involves allegations of illegal allotment of 14 MUDA sites to Siddaramaiah’s wife Parvathi BM, who is named as accused No.2.
The FIR filed by the Mysuru Lokayukta police on September 27 named Siddaramaiah, his wife, his brother-in-law Mallikarjuna Swamy and others.
The charges stemmed from the fact that Swami had purchased land from a man named Devaraju and then gifted it to Parvathi.
Both Swamy and Devaraju have appeared before the Lokayutta police.
Meanwhile, the opposition BJP organized protests in Mysore demanding Siddaramaiah’s resignation.
BJP MLA TS Srivatsa led the protests, criticizing Siddaramaiah and calling on him to step down to ensure a fair investigation.
Srivasa expressed concerns over the impartiality of the Lokayutta investigation and demanded that the case be handed over to the CBI.
