New Delhi: Member of Parliament Abhishek Manu Singhvi Reply on Friday President of the Federal Council Jagdeep Dhankar alleged that a “wad of notes” was found on his seat and clarified that he only carried a Rs 500 note to the Upper House.

on Friday, Federal Council Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar revealed that security personnel recovered the currency notes from the seat number 222 allocated to Singhvi after the House session on Thursday. The revelation sparked protests from the opposition, with opposition leader Mallikarjun Kharge objecting to being named until the investigation is completed.
“I request that no member’s name be released until the investigation is completed and the veracity of the incident is determined,” Hager said.
Dankar explained that the amount seized appeared to be 100 notes of Rs 500, but its authenticity was still uncertain. He said an investigation had been launched as per standard practice and expressed surprise that no one had claimed the money.
