Past midnight Aman begins his fight against the scales. He goes into the gym where he does continuous running on treadmill for 1 hour thereby stretching his limits of endurance. After a short rest of half an hour, five sauna sessions by the team were initiated each lasting five minutes. His hard work paid off yet not quickly enough- Aman remained overweighted with 900 grams.

As time went on and Aman’s weight remained above the 60 kilograms required. The coaches resorted to a combination of jogging and sauna. Several 15-minute running training sessions helped Aman’s weight gradually approach his target. At 4:30 in the morning it finally turned in his favor –Aman weighed 56.9 kgs while he was just 100 grams below the threshold.
All the dedication, sweat and sleepless nights paved way for Oman to secure a bronze medal on the next day. That achievement not only made him India’s youngest Olympian ever. But also exposed how extremely lengthy an athlete has to go for greatness.
