Alec Baldwin is given full support by his wife Hilaria Baldwin in the face of charges over the death of a cinematographer Helena Hutchins in 2021 during the shooting of a movie known as Rust.
Hilaria was at the courthouse with Alec’s siblings on his first day of trial in New Mexico. Stephen Baldwin and Beth Kuechler.
Hilaria will “stay in New Mexico to face trial,” sources said.
“She’s very supportive and attends the trials every day. It’s hard for both of them.” A source added, “They don’t want to spend their summer this way and can’t wait till it’s all over. Hilaria thinks that Alec will be proven innocent.”
She went to court for jury selection at a courthouses on July 9. Tuesday, with two of her seven children and one from Alec’s previous marriage with Kim Basinger.
Cameras were rolling on October 21, 2021 when an accidental discharge killed Hutchins and injured Souza. In his defense, Alec stated that he did not know there was live ammunition inside nor did he pull the trigger.
Alec has pleaded not guilty to manslaughter charges which carry up to one year six months imprisonment if found guilty.
Hannah Gutierrez Reed ,the armorer for Rust got sentenced to eighteen months for manslaughter back in April.
In May, someone told Alec that he was “nervous” and “understandably concerned” about Reid’s sentencing. “He has a strong legal team; I would be surprised if anyone were looking at jail time but you never know what Ms Gutierrez-Reed had planned,” the person said.
On Wednesday while making opening statements Alex Spiro who serves as Alec’s lawyer claimed that claims relating to crime against him are baseless since as an actor. He handled firearms on set like other cast members have before.
“Not a single day goes by that we don’t wish Alec saved her life. But there has never been an actor who’s caught a live round coming out of a prop gun in the history of movies. Not one,” Spiro told reporters in the group. “It would be ridiculous to think that an actor could or should do so. So keep this fact… Justice is Truth, and this is unspeakable.”
