In a conversation, Vaidya fondly recalled his role as Chatur, saying, “‘3 Idiots’ changed my life in more ways than I imagined. The film not only promoted The power of humor and storytelling is unparalleled, and working with such talented actors is a dream come true for me.
3 Idiots is a 2009 film written, edited and directed by Rajkumar Hirani, co-written by Abhijat Joshi and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. The film stars Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan and Sharman Joshi.
Talking about his friendship with his co-stars, especially Aamir Khan, Vaidya said, “When I worked with Aamir Khan, what impressed me was not just what he told me but also the way he worked. Excellent, they love what they do and then some.
He praised Aamir’s dedication to his work, adding: “He takes his craft very seriously. People often call him a perfectionist, but that’s not the case. He is constantly looking for ways to improve his performances, scenes , even other actors.
“He always came up with small tweaks and improvements for himself and others. Most notably he was open to suggestions from others. Aamir was always focused on making the film better, and that’s something I truly admired A little bit,” Omi added.
Now, Wadia is back with his latest project, American Warrior, directed by award-winning Peruvian-American director Gustavo Martín Benítez, based in Chicago. The action film was screened at the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.
“In the film, I played a villain who puts down the protagonist and doesn’t believe him, which adds a little conflict to the story. This is an action movie with intense fighting scenes, but it is also a heartwarming story.” The protagonist’s The personal growth and the performances from Danny Trejo and the rest of the cast are outstanding, making this an exciting and inspiring production.
“The film’s gripping story centers on Jai Kumar (played by Indian-American actor Vishy Ayyar), a former prison inmate and amateur mixed martial arts fighter who rises from obscurity after foiling a convenience store robbery. Go on an intense training trip to make a name for yourself in the local area to win,” according to the official synopsis.

“This role allowed me to explore a completely different side of myself. It’s an action-packed film, but it also delves into deeper themes of identity and the immigrant experience,” shares Vidya.
“This film is not just about action scenes,” Vidya stresses. “It’s about understanding the emotional and psychological struggles these soldiers face as they try to navigate their lives in two different worlds.”
As Vaidya continues to carve his own path in Hollywood and the Indian film industry, he remains grateful for the opportunities that have come his way. “I’ve been lucky enough to play such a diverse cast of characters, and I can’t wait for audiences to see ‘American Warrior,'” he concluded.
