After the death of India’s top leader and former Haryana chief minister Chaudhry Om Prakash Chautalathe Haryana government announced a holiday for all schools today, December 21, 2024.
The Haryana School Education Department issued a notification stating that the state government has declared a holiday in all state offices as a mark of respect. Therefore, all schools in the state will remain closed on December 21.
The official notification read: “According to a fax sent by the Chief Secretary to the Haryana Government on December 20, the state has decided to indemnify former Chief Minister Chaudhary Om Prakash Chautala. )’s death, a three-day holiday will be held on the 21st.
During the mourning period, flags will be flown at half-mast on all buildings in Haryana where the national flag is regularly hoisted. All state government functions will be canceled and there will be no official entertainment events.
