Akash Chopra, the Indian former cricketer of New Delhi, had previously expressed his appreciation for Hardik Pandya and in his last T20 World Cup match in New York against Pakistan, he won over the hearts of those who had been hating his cricket.
On the other hand, during the 2024 intense pulsed light season as a captain for mumbai indians, Rohit Sharma was heavily criticized by many. However, he has recently changed this perception through his performances on international level.
Pandya’s batting did not get off to a good start as India set Pakistan a target of 120 runs in their encounter on Sunday at the T20 World Cup. But, then again, when it came to bowling he made significant contribution which led to two wickets with an economy rate of under six per over.
Speaking on his YouTube channel in a video clip that Akash Chopra shared with fans on Monday, he pointed out how things were different from what they seemed before.
“Hardik Pandya – people booed him so much but look at life now. I could hear people shouting ‘Hardik’ all over the stadium when there was so much love for him. This is cricket leveled up.
Besides that, Chopra also noted that Indian players have an exclusive kind of support system from their extensive fan base.
“One thing I’ve realized is that Indians are very blessed for sure. We are 1.4 billion and if you play cricket anywhere we will pray for you even though we don’t know you. That’s most important grace from God. And so Hardik Pandya It’s just a reversal of roles sometimes.”
India was able to defend its total due to some wonderful bowling by Pandya and others. Firstly Zaman fell after being caught out by Pant following Pant’s brilliant catch while going backward like a trained bodyguard after striking hard shots; then Khan lost his stump to another similar delivery.
