Guru Pradosh Vrat 2024: Meaning
Pradosh Vrat is observed on Trayodashi Tithi, which falls twice a month. Trayoshadi tithi is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. This time it is on Thursday, so it is called Guru Pradosh Vrat. On this auspicious day, devotees observe fast from dawn to dusk and break their fast in the evening after worshiping various Puru rituals. By worshiping Maa Parvati and Bolnath Ji, one can achieve their desired wishes. Devotees who find it difficult to find a suitable partner for marriage will find a suitable partner if they perform Pradosh Puja and fast regularly.
Guru Pradosh Vrat 2024: Puja Ceremony
Get up early in the morning and take a holy bath before starting the puja rituals. Clean the house and puja room. After completing all household chores, one has to visit the temple and perform abhishekam to shivalingam with panchamrit (milk, curd, honey, powdered sugar and ghee) while chanting Panchakshari Mantra and Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra. Devotees can also bring Shringar items and offer them to the goddess to pray for their desired partner. In the evening, during Gaudhuri, people have to perform puja. Take a wooden board, place the idols of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, light the diya with ghee, light incense and recite various mantras dedicated to Mata Parvati and Mahadev Ji. Recite the Pradosh Vrat katha and offer bhog prasad to the Lord and Goddess. After completing all the puja rituals, devotees can break the fast and eat sattvik food.
