Talking to ANI, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said, “The Director of Education has been asked to issue a notification declaring a holiday on Monday as a red alert has been issued for all schools in Goa from pre-primary to 12 Grade level classes will remain closed tomorrow.
He further informed, “All roads are flooded and there is water everywhere. Therefore, we have declared a day off. However, this is not a government holiday and government offices and everything else will remain open as usual.” My request to everyone is , there is heavy rainfall in various parts of Goa, so do not go out unless there is urgent work… 80 people are trapped in Goa.
The Goa Education Department has directed schools to issue notifications informing parents and students about the suspension. This holiday is intended to ensure the safety of students during adverse weather conditions.
