France finished hosting the Global Muthamizh Murugan Conference in two days amid cheer on Saturday morning.
Spiritual leaders Kundrakudi Ponnampala Adikal, Perur Adheenam Santhalinga Marudachala Adigal and Mayilam Adheenam lit the traditional kuthuvilaku with the presence of Ministers PK Sekharbabu (Minister for Human Resource Development and CE), I Periyasamy, and R Sakkarapani.
The ministers then performed a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the gathering. Next, they hoist a flag – A rooster, peacock, spear symbol on a 100ft flagpole to mark the official commencement of the global event.
Workshops will be held during the conference including an exhibition of six abodes of Murugan, photo gallery and 3D display that portrays cultural and spiritual aspects linked with Lord Murugan.
Special invitees, apart from international scholars numbering to about 1,300 will present research papers in five different workshop sessions organized by this conference
Among those who were special guests at this function were High Court judges, adheenams(spiritual leaders) as well as famous religious speakers.
It has also provided eight richly-embellished arches modeled after those found in Murugan Temple along with Palani Temple inspired grand pavilion covering large areas suitable for thousands of people.
Over 2,000 police officers are assigned to maintain security while volunteers and students have been deployed to help guide participants taking part in it.
For instance, attendees will receive exclusive prasadam bags containing the sacramental offerings made at Palani Temple such as Panchamirtham which is one among them.
Free admission has been provided for HR and CE departments that have taken extensive measures so that devotees as well as general public may attend without any problem whatsoever during Global Muthamizh Murugan Conference.
Eight temporary parking lots have been established by the district police around Palani to accommodate vehicles from different entry points.
