Recalling her childhood Diwali celebrations, Sushmita adds, “I used to light up my house with countless diyas and candles. Back then, Diwali usually started a few days before the actual date.
“I love Kali puja pandals in Kolkata”
Susmita is far away from home and now lives in Kolkata for work. While she misses Diwali, the actress has considered Kolkata her second home. “Although I am away from home, I don’t miss home after staying in the city for so long. This city has beautiful Kali Puja pandas that I like. Now, Kali Puja means fasting, then praying, and then eating some street food Food. Kolkata has become my second home,” she added.

“Sweets, sweets, just sweets” is how Susmita sums up her favorite foods of Diwali. As someone who isn’t too keen on cooking, the Genghis Khan actress relies on friends and her loved ones. “I am a foodie but have zero knowledge about cooking. I wait for others to cook and serve me delicious dishes. Also, I am really waiting for my Diwali hamper; these are the little pleasures in life,” she added.
” As a Bengali girl, this time of year is not only Diwali but also the celebration of Kali Puja. It marks the victory of good over evil.”
