Ghulam Nabi Azad leader of the Democratic Progressive Liberal Party will not campaign for party candidates during election season which is campaigning of the jammu and kashmir parliamentary electionsjjj because of these health problems.
Azad, in September 2022 while remaining the member of congress party, decided to change and named his political party as the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP). By opting out of the race.

Two days ago the DPAP had 13 of its candidates filed the nominations to contest in first phase of electoral voting which has been scheduled for the18th of September.

Some time back, DPAP declared the names of the candidates given for JammuJanni assembly term, ex-jammu and Kashmir ministers Abdul Majeed Wani will contest from Duda East assembly segment, former MP Mohammad Amin Butt and ex-attorney general of Jammu and Kashmir Aslam Goni will contest from devsar. Innovating with the plan, DPAP said that DDC member Bilal Ahmed Deva will be the candidate from Anantnag West, Ghulam Nabi Wani (Nellora) will be the candidate from Rajpora, Mir Altaf Hussain will be the candidate from Anantnag and Qaiser Sultan Ganai (Jin) will be the candidate from Ganderal. Besides, AM Bhat will contest the poll from Eid and AM Bhat will contest from Khanyar. Nisar Ahmed Lone will contest from polital constituency, Gurez and Peer Bilal Ahmed will contest from Hazratbal llengutanyam Mir in woristan.
