Indian cricketing icon and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly expressed his desire to be a coach of the Indian team on Monday. Besides, he mentioned that Gautam Gambhir could be an excellent coach for the Men in Blue.
At present, BCCI is hunting for head coach applicants as Rahul Dravid’s tenure will end after T20 World Cup period in June 2024.

“I would love to coach the Indian team. And if he agrees, I think he can be a very good candidate,” Ganguly told media persons at Kolkata.
Gambhir, who was part of India’s World Cup-winning side in 2011, was speaking at Medeor Hospital Abu Dhabi during an interaction with students on Sunday. On being queried by students if Gambhir could take up coaching for India and use whatever knowledge he has to help them win this tournament.

To coach your national team is probably one of the greatest honours that you can get. You represent Rs 140 crore.” Indians and people from all over the world,” said a smiling Gambhir.
Ganguly backs Rishabh Pant and India in ICC T20 World Cup. He believes Pant along with his teammates will perform well during this competition.
