According to ANI, the two have been in school together since Class 5A in the early 1970s, and even their student numbers are very close. Lieutenant General Dwivedi’s student number is 931, and General Tripathi’s student number is 931. The number is 938.
They formed a strong bond from their first days at school and despite being on different sides, they have always stayed in touch.
A defense official who knows both officers said the strong friendship between the military’s top leadership is important in strengthening the working relationship between the two militaries.
The two classmates dated at about the same time, about two months apart.
Lieutenant General Dwivedi has long served as the commander of the Northern Army and has long been involved in the ongoing military standoff along the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh.
Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi was born on July 1, 1964. He enlisted in the Jammu and Kashmir Rifles of the Indian Army on December 15, 1984.
