It was a few months ago when Indian player Dinesh Karthik, who used to be an experienced wicketkeeper-batsman, chose to give up gaming and retire from all formats of the sport. Nonetheless, he still actively serves as a commentator and analyst giving his insights on the games.
Nevertheless, in one of the episodes of Cricbuzz video series ‘HeyCB’, Karthik was asked a question which had nothing to do with cricket but revealed how much this former foe wanted to become like a musical creator and singer AR Rahman.
“One viewer asked me if I could swap lives with any celebrity for a week who would it be and what would you do?” questioned Karthik on the show.
“I’d really love to change lives with AR Raham,” responded Karthik. “I am his biggest fan (but) haven’t seen him ever. It would be great to see how creative (his brains) can get.”
“He has got an amazing talent. I like his music so much. And I admire his perseverance in the last thirty years too. I wish I could have known what my guruji thinks about every day.”
Kartik goes on admit that keeping late nights awake composing fresh music will not be easy for him as Rahman somehow knew it would so that’s why he said….
“I hear he works at night almost all through. So it’s going to be tough yet still don’t mind being inside his mind,” he concluded with a smile.
This year in June Kartik announced retirement after having played 26 Tests, 94 ODIs and 60 T20Is for India.
