Shagla became a chess prodigy when he was five years old and became the youngest chess prodigy. FIDE level Indian players put on great performances in FIDE Quick Rating 1428.
Within five years, three months little Kushaagra has demonstrated an outstanding talent in chess, which started when his sister Aveeka introduced him to the game as she competed in state championships.
Khushgra’s recent FIDE post was shared by Viswanathan Anand, a five-time world chess champion, on his social media handles.
For his age, Khushagla’s achievements were remarkable. His performance at National Under-7 Schools Championship is commendable. He is also the top-rated under-5 player who won 5 out of 9 points at this first rated tournament. A few months later he defeated an opponent with FIDE rating during one classical game played at a FIDE rated tournament – this showed that his game had developed significantly.
Silky Agrawal, his mother, proudly shared that Kushaagra participated in seven such tournaments held in different cities including Patna, Udaipur, Bangalore and Pune.
On June 27th International Chess Federation posted about him on FIDE rated player ranked fifth on the list of best performers according to them.
