Thiruvananthapuram: The actor turned politician, Suresh Gopi who was sworn in as minister a day before said that he might soon be removed from the cabinet.

Gopi came to be identified with ‘Modiyude Gaurantee’ pledge to Kerala during the elections and for the third time running, he became a member of the Union Council of Ministers under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s regime.
In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the actor aged sixty five emerged victoriously over his opponent advocate V.S Sunilkumar by polling 74,686 votes.
Meanwhile Prime Minister Modi had held his first poll roadshow in Thrissur last December and later visited again for the sake of attending Gopi’s daughter’s wedding at Guruvayoor Sri Krishna Temple.
When ANI asked him on June 4 after he had won, he said “I am angry”. “I am totally blissed out. The impossible has become possible… This has not been just a campaign for 62 days but an emotional journey into my past seven years… I work for all people’s welfare in Kerala. My preference is AIIMS…”
Another senior BJP leader George Kurian had also been made state minister on Sunday besides Suresh Gopi.
