New Delhi: A small explosion occurred near a temple in Meradevpalli area of Hyderabad on Monday, injuring a priest of the temple.
The priest was clearing garbage from the road outside the temple when the incident occurred.
“An explosion occurred near a temple on Laxmiguda Road within the limits of Mailardevpally police station. The temple priest was cleaning houses near the temple when the incident took place. The temple priest was seriously injured in the explosion and has been admitted to the hospital. More details will be revealed after investigation Announcement,” ACP Rajender Nagar told news agency ANI.
After receiving the news, the police rushed to the scene with officers bomb squad.
Samples were collected at the site and sent to a laboratory for analysis.
However, the priest was rushed to hospital after the blast and his condition was reported to be stable, the Press Trust of India news agency reported.
Troopers said investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the explosion.
