A group of entrepreneurs from the industrial sector, including Sectors 5,7,10,Udyog Kendra I and II and Ecotech 3 met GB Nagar District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma at Surajpur Collectorate Office yesterday evening to discuss basic municipal facilities including lack of clean drains, functional roads, unauthorized encroachments, exorbitant water charges and unauthorized water charges which have hampered power infrastructure build out in the industrial areas. The DM asked the departments concerned to resolve all issues pertaining to industry on priority basis.
From fixing roads and desilting drains to fast tracked power infrastructure development; industry representatives at Udyog Bandhu district urged the DM to take concrete action.
“We have seen Mr. Manish Kumar Verma We described how bad things are in our industries when we gathered at his office together with officials from various departments such as police, power administration and others on Monday Noida Entrepreneurs Association (National Energy Board).
During this time Malhan told the DM that Greater Noida’s sectors like Udyog Kendra-1, 2 And Ecotech-3 have broken down roads, tiles less footpaths and no drainage system in its area. The same is for other sectors such as 5,6 & 7.
Furthermore NEA senior vice president Mukesh Kakkar said entrepreneurs face difficulties on a daily basis due to lack of door–to-door garbage collection system in greater noida “In greater Noida there is no daily garbage collection.” Therefore we requested that this process be simplified.
Power problems in industrial estates are caused by underlying infrastructure defects such as snapped wires or burnt transformers or wires touching each other during light showers to heavy rainfalls etc. “This has been mainly due to slow progress of upgrades and repairs in infrastructure which needs attention because small entrepreneurs stand losses during several hours’ blackouts per day,” Malhan said.
Although Mr. Malhan claimed that many entrepreneurs in the region had not yet been paid the government’s basic subsidy to industry, he added that Parthala Chowk of Road and National Highway-9 going through Chotpur village area always witnesses road blockage every day on both sides. “By Thela, Patri Bazaar, battery operated vehicles etc., this is caused by rampant encroachments . Despite previous reports to traffic police,” the situation still persists as these traders and drivers keep coming back at this place,” Malhan said.
DM Manish Kumar Verma directed department officials after listening to these issues stated above to hold a meeting with NEA officials for power related problems as soon as possible. He also instructed the police to handle traffic congestion on roads.
But now tenders are expected to be floated soon while repairs will quickly follow suit after election code of conduct ends, officials from the agency’s public health department said concerning road/drainage repairs.
Other attendees of the meeting were finance minister Sharad Chandra Jain, Mohan Singh, Rajendra Mohan Jindal, vice president Ajay Sareen and NEA member Asim Jagia. In Noida are found over 16000 small and big industries that span more than a dozen sectors in various parts of the area.
