Raut’s remarks follow recent remarks by former Jharkhand chief minister Champai Soren, who said he had been “insulted and scorned” by members of his own party.
Early reports suggested that Champai would join the BJP and Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi welcomed him at X, saying: “Champai da, you are a tiger, you are a Tiger, you’re here to stay, further fueling the rumors.
The Shiv Sena (UBT) leader also claimed that the saffron party is “fearful” of losing the Maharashtra elections and is trying to buy votes through the “Ladla Bhai” scheme.
“They are afraid of losing in Maharashtra and Jharkhand. They will be swept in Maharashtra. They want to buy votes through the ‘Ladla Bhai’ scheme,” Raut said.
As per the provisions of the scheme, boys who successfully pass class 12 will get a monthly stipend of Rs 6,000, diploma holders will be entitled to a monthly stipend of Rs 8,000 and graduates will be eligible for a monthly stipend of Rs 10,000. .
The ECI on Saturday announced election dates for Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana, but not for Maharashtra, citing concerns over rains, festivals and lack of available troops in the state.
Earlier assembly elections in Maharashtra and Haryana were held simultaneously. The Maharashtra Legislative Assembly has 288 seats. In the recent Lok Sabha polls, the MVA (Maha Vikas Aghadi) alliance won, bagging 30 of the 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra.
