Undergraduate study
She began her formal education at the former BVB College of Engineering and Technology and now KLE University of Technology. Muti was more interested in electrical and electronics engineering, which is largely male-dominated. After considerable hard work and focus, she graduated with the gold medal in her class and performed extremely well academically. This achievement was conferred upon her by the then Chief Minister of Karnataka. So, she’s in an extremely monumental place in her career.
postgraduate study
After graduating from college with honors, Muti hopes to pursue higher education in a rapidly growing field. She joined the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, one of India’s premier research institutions, to do postgraduate work in computer science. This period of study gave her a good foundation in technology and in the disciplines that she would later deploy vigorously in her career.
Sudarmurthy founded Infosys Foundation 1996. She currently chairs the committee, where she leads a range of initiatives focused on education, health and rural development.
Professional development and lifelong learning
Muti’s formal education did not end with a formal degree. She has enjoyed learning and professional development throughout her life. Early in her career, Murty worked with TELCO (now Tata Motors) and later with Walchand Industries in Pune, which provided her with practical experience that enhanced her engineering and systems analysis skills.
Contributions to academia
Muti made significant contributions to academia. As a visiting professor at Bangalore University, she shares her knowledge and experience with the new generation of engineers and technicians. Her tenure as professor at Christ University further underscored her sense of responsibility to educate and give back to the academic community.

Muti’s personal life
Sudha Murthy’s personal and professional life were closely intertwined. While she was working in TELCO, she got married to NR Narayana Murthy there and they had two children: Akshata and Rohan. Akshata is married to former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who surprisingly also happens to be her classmate at Stanford University. Sudha Murty has publicly declared that Rishi Sunak will create history in 2022 and become the first Indian-origin Prime Minister of the UK, which is undoubtedly a matter of pride for her because He is on his way to becoming Britain’s first Indian-American president. While balancing family responsibilities, Sudha Murty is also committed to her professional pursuits, which reflect a blend of personal and global relationships.
