New Delhi: Father 31 years old Postgraduate internwho was raped and murdered RG Kar Medical College and Hospital While on duty in Kolkata, he shared insights into his daughter’s wishes and dedication to medical research.
Her final entry in her personal diary expresses her ambition to excel academically, with the goal of becoming a gold medalist on the course and topping the MD examination.
According to India Today, the father revealed that his daughter is a diligent student who often spends 10 to 12 hours studying every day. He laments that everything is now in tatters. “She was immersed in books all day long. She worked very hard,” he said, emphasizing her unwavering commitment to education.
The trainee doctor’s father praised his daughter’s determination, stressing that she “struggled a lot to achieve her goal of becoming a doctor”. He acknowledged the sacrifices his family had made to raise her and said he was “overwhelmed” by the nationwide support for his daughter following the tragedy.
“I will not get my daughter back. But all I can do is be courageous and hopeful. The support from across the country gives us a lot of courage to fight for justice,” he said.
The father of a postgraduate trainee doctor expressed dissatisfaction with the handing over of the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
“We now have hope for justice. We cannot lose hope,” her father said.
He calls for the death penalty for those who abused his daughter murder. “The sooner they get punished the better. We’ll get some consolation, but nothing can make up for our loss.”
On August 9, the doctor’s half-naked body was found in the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, West Bengal.
Citizen volunteer Sanjoy Roy was arrested in connection with the heinous crime. The investigation, which was initially handled by the Kolkata Police, has been handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on an order of the Calcutta High Court.
The autopsy report from the female doctor revealed the extent of the cruelty she suffered, showing that she had been stabbed and injured multiple times in multiple parts of her body.
The report mentioned trauma to her lower and upper lips, nose, cheeks and jaw. It also noted injuries to the temporal bones of her skull and blood coagulation in her forehead.
