Diwali 2024: Date, Laxmi Puja Shubh Muhurat, Puja Ceremony and Meaning of Festival of Lights

Diwali is also known as Deepawali which is a festival of lights and Dias. Diwali is one of the major festivals for Hindus and is celebrated with great happiness and splendor across the world. On this auspicious day, people celebrate the day in a grand way by lighting up their homes, offices and all places, making rangolis and distributing sweets to their loved ones. Deepavali will be celebrated in 2024 October 31, 2024. According to Hindu Panchang, this day is celebrated on the Amavasya Tithi of Krishna Paksha in the Hindu month of Kartik.

Diwali 2024: Meaning
As we all know Diwali celebrations in the country start from the first day of Dhanteras and now on the second day of Diwali it is celebrated as Narak Chaturdashi. Diwali is one of the most important festivals for Hindus. This day is celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm in various parts of the globe where Indian people live. They light up the places where they live and dispel the darkness.
Diwali is a festival that celebrates the victory of good over evil and light over darkness. One should also remove the darkness within and illuminate their mind, body and soul with the light of truth and righteousness. Diwali gives everyone an opportunity to meet their loved ones and celebrate the festival of happiness by giving gifts, sweets, decorating the house, and distributing sweets to others.
Diwali 2024: How to celebrate?

  • Lakshmi Puja: The main essence of celebrating Diwali is to perform Laxmi Puja on this auspicious day as it is believed that during this period when gods and demons churn the ocean, Goddess Laxmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity emerges from the milky Appear in the ocean. So people held various sacrificial rituals to please the goddess and seek blessings.

  • Defeat evil: This day celebrates the victory of good over evil. On this auspicious day, people light up the lights in their homes to disperse the darkness everywhere. It is known that on this holy day, Lord Rama returns to Ayodhya along with his brother Lakshman and wife Mata Sita. First, Diwali is celebrated in Ayodhya to welcome Lord Ram.

  • Eliminate darkness: As the name suggests, Deepawali means a row of lights, the festival of lights and diyas, people use lights and diyas to illuminate their places of residence, offices and other workplaces.

  • Saraswati Puja: Deepavali is also associated with Goddess Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge and wisdom. In some areas, people perform Saraswati Puja to seek the goddess’s blessings for enlightenment and academic success.

  • celebration: This festival is filled with festivities and people celebrate it in different ways such as celebrating with their loved ones, decorating, making rangolis, performing various puja rituals, visiting temples, lighting up houses, distributing sweets and gifts. Therefore, there are many ways to celebrate Diwali.
