Nayanthara has publicly expressed her displeasure with actor Dhanush after he sent her a legal notice for using a character from his 2015 film “The Movie” Visual Effects, seeking compensation of Rs 10 crore.Nanum Roddy DaanIn her upcoming Netflix documentary Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale. Following her post, several actors also expressed their support. Dhanush’s Maryan co-star Parvathy Thiruvothu retweeted Nayanthara’s open letter and added a folded hands emoji, While Anupama Parmeswaran and Shruti Haasan Love this post. Additionally, Nazriya Fahadh (from “Naiyaandi”), Aishwarya Lakshmi (from “Jagame Thandhiram”) and Gouri G Kishan (from “Karnan”) also liked Nayanthara’s statement. For the uninitiated, Nayanthara explained in a lengthy statement that she has sought permission from Dhanush to use clips and songs from ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’ in her upcoming documentary. However, after waiting for two years for approval from actors and producers, she decided to delete scenes from the documentary and proceed without his petty officer. She said the visuals used in her documentary were filmed by fans on their mobile phones and criticized Dhanush for objecting to its inclusion.
Nayanthara expressed disappointment at what he called an “all-time low” when Dhanush filed a Rs 10-crore lawsuit and questioned his character and integrity.
She wrote: “We were surprised to read these words in which you question the use of some videos (only 3 seconds) shot on our personal devices, as well as BTS’s visuals, which have been made public on social media Showed and asked for a fee.
The actress also said that she will respond to Dhanush’s legal notice through appropriate legal channels.
“I have received your legal notice and we will respond appropriately through legal means. You have refused to grant NOC the right to use elements of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in our Netflix documentary. From a copyright perspective, your request to the court is The reasons may be sound, but I want to remind you that it has a moral side and must be defended in the courts of God,” her post read.
As of now, Dhanush has not responded publicly to Nayanthara’s remarks. This comes just days before the release of her documentary, which is set to premiere on Netflix on November 18, coinciding with her 40th birthday.
