New Delhi: Over 40 private schools in Delhi get bomb The threat was sent via email Monday morning. Among them, the five schools under threat are Delhi Public School in Vasant Kunj and RK Puram, GD Goenka School and Doon Public School in Paschim Vihar, and Brilliant’s Convent School in Pitampura.
An official said he received a bomb threat call from DPS. RK Plum 7.06am and G·D·Goenka Paschim Vihar 6.15 am.
A team from the Delhi Fire Service (DFS) immediately reached the spot. Police, bomb squads, dog squads and field officers are checking the entire school grounds.
A police official said nothing suspicious has been discovered so far.
The schools were targeted by a threatening email that claimed there were hidden bombs planted in the school buildings. The email claimed multiple bombs were strategically placed in the building, posing a significant threat to students and staff.
The anonymous sender demanded a ransom of $30,000 and warned that failure to comply would lead to a bomb explosion. School management immediately took action and sent students home. Parents are asked to pick up their children as a precaution.
“I placed multiple bombs in the building. The bombs are small and well concealed. They will not cause much damage to the building, but when the bombs explode, many people will be injured. You should all suffer and lose limbs. If I didn’t I will detonate the bomb for $30,000,” the email read.

Meanwhile, school administration has sent students home. Further inspections are underway.
Earlier on November 19, the Delhi High Court directed the local administration and police to prepare a thorough action plan that includes detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) for handling bomb threats and similar emergencies. Authorities have eight weeks to complete the instructions.

The court noted that SOPs should clearly outline the responsibilities of all parties involved (law enforcement, school administration and municipalities) to ensure seamless coordination and implementation.
A bench of Justice Sanjeev Narula, on an application by advocate Arpit Bhargava, directed the Delhi government and police to complete a comprehensive action plan, including for managing bomb threats and related emergencies. Standard Operating Procedures.
