The university has allowed appointment of visiting professors in the twelve DU colleges funded by the Delhi government in order to reduce their burdens. The Delhi University government said that it won’t apply its earlier directions to these colleges due to the “inordinate delay” in appointment of faculty members.
“…Unduly delayed staff appointments (with some excuse or other) at twelve 100% funded Colleges of Delhi Government and this means that the academy advice on visiting teachers is effective only for appointment of visiting teachers until further instructions”. For better learning outcomes among students, leave vacancies such as maternity leave, parental leave, study leave, academic leave, sick leave and special leave shall not be applicable to these colleges.
Previously on August 8th, the Delhi University issued orders directing heads of departments to appoint guest teachers only in cases where lecturers went on leave.
