Delhi Police busts charity ruse: Two men impersonating orphans, deaf-mute arrested for stealing electronics
They started from Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh and targeted houses near educational institutions.

New Delhi: Two men frequently travel to Delhi from their hometown tamil nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Every morning, they venture into the bustling metropolis of Delhi’s National Capital Region, disguised as the underprivileged – either deaf and mute or orphans seeking charity.
However, this facade belied a sinister intent: an elaborate plan to steal valuable electronics from unsuspecting households.
Their elaborate deceptions are integrated into daily life in the city, allowing them to go undetected for considerable periods of time. But when their luck finally runs out delhi police They were arrested in Saket.
The accused were identified as Balan (34) and P. Karthik (28). from their hands, 16 cell phone stolensix laptops and a stolen motorcycle were recovered.
Deputy Commissioner of Police South Ankit Chauhan said that based on intelligence, the two men, suspected of theft, would ride a motorcycle from Gurgaon to Nehru Place to handle the stolen goods and meet their accomplices.
Two people were caught carrying a stolen motorcycle after a trap was set near the red-light Asian Market in Sackett.
“They were asked about their presence and the documents of the motorcycle, but they pretended to be deaf and mute and communicated only through gestures. In addition, they were shown a letter showing some entries of charitable donations made to them by different persons , complete with signature and other information.
After a cursory search and inspection of their luggage, mobile phones and laptops were discovered.
The accused traveled from Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu in trains and roamed the National Capital Region of Delhi in the early hours, randomly attacking houses, especially those close to educational institutions.
“Because students living in these areas often own expensive electronic products such as mobile phones, laptops, iPads, and headphones, the two will pretend to be students, members of a school for the deaf or orphans, and appeal for donations in the name of the school or school.” The police explained Said: “Enter the orphanage with proof of affiliation. “Once they get an opportunity, they steal the electronic items and sell the stolen goods at reasonable prices in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
