
New Delhi, Wednesday, Delhi Education Department (U.S. Department of Energy) directs all public and private schools to implement student safety guidelines. “Heads of all government, government-aided schools and private schools are directed to take necessary steps as outlined in the guidelines,” a notification from the directorate said.
The notification stresses that school principals must ensure that their institutions are prepared as per the safety checklist provided in the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) manual.
“NCPCR has formulated guidelines to clarify the responsibilities of school management in matters of child safety and security,” the statement read.
The guidelines also include a school safety checklist, the notice mentioned.
The statement said the DOE has directed all heads of institutions to adhere to the guidelines provided by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) for dormitories in educational institutions.
“The Ministry of Education has also launched the ‘School Safety and Security Guidelines 2021’ issued in line with the Supreme Court directives and the National Education Policy 2020,” it added.
