David Warner, a batsman for Australia, tells an amusing story of how during the 2024 T20 World Cup game with Oman he mistakenly went into the wrong dressing room.
Warner, who hit a crucial fifty in the match, was out in the penultimate over and walked unknowingly into the Oman dressing room before being redirected back to his own.
Commenting on that mix-up later on, Warner said “I just did not see it. I was knackered. So nothing crossed my mind at all. Don’t even know what happened because I thought it was someone calling me,” he said ahead of Australia’s upcoming clash against England in an interview with reporters.
After going through a rough patch in their innings at 50/3 by over number nine which Warner batted as an anchor doing so alongside Marcus Stoinis who stabilized the Australian innings and seen them post a total of 164 runs. In response, Oman struggled and only managed to score 125/9 enabling Australia to win comfortably.
Before the match against England, Warner dismissed questions concerning Mark Wood and Jofra Archer as dangerous fast bowlers. On Saturday at Kensington Oval Barbados England who are still looking for their first victory in this tournament after their only game was abandoned due to rain will meet Australia.
“You’ve also got to use their pace. Test cricket they set different fields, different balls. In Twenty20 cricket you only have to get half an edge on it and it can go. So there’s quite a difference,” Warner explained.
The forthcoming contest between these two great cricket nations: England is yet to claim its first win while Australia hopes that her success continues unabated in this championship; means that this will be very interesting thing indeed especially when you consider that one of them is participating here for survival from ashes among others
