
Bhubaneswar: Wherever possible Cyclone Dana Likely to hit Orissa Coast, state government announces closure of schools in 14 districts of anganwadis from 14th October 23 to 25.
According to the India Meteorological Department (In-mold development department), heavy rain Rainfall is likely to occur in most parts of Odisha from October 23, and the rainfall intensity will increase thereafter.
In view of the upcoming cyclone, schools in Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhankanal, Jajpur, Angul, Khurda, Nayagarh and Cuttack districts will remain closed from October 23 to 25.
The IMD forecast said that heavy rains are expected to occur in most parts of the state due to the impact of the cyclone, while red alert Heavy rain has been declared in 7 districts including Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Cuttack, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada and Jagatsinghpur.
When a cyclone hits the coast, some areas may experience heavy rainfall of up to 20-30 cm within 24 hours, and wind speeds may be as high as 100-110 kilometers per hour.
“The state government is fully prepared to deal with all eventualities and is taking all measures to ensure zero casualties during the cyclone. There will be 100% evacuation from the affected areas,” the chief minister said Mohan Majhi After reviewing cyclone preparations.
