Cowboys make history with lopsided loss to Eagles for all the wrong reasons
The decline began in the wild-card playoffs, when cowboys The Green Bay Packers lost 48-32. They trailed the Packers 27-0 at one point, setting a worrying tone. Dallas’ struggles didn’t end there. In the second week, they were defeated by the New Orleans Saints 44-19. The following week, they struggled again against the Baltimore Ravens, trailing 28-6 before losing 28-25. Their fortunes took a turn for the worse in Week 6, when they suffered a 47-9 loss to the Detroit Lions. The team lost to the Eagles 34-6, breaking a record for five consecutive games, a trend that was difficult for both fans and the team to accept.
The Cowboys are currently 3-6, their season appears to be in jeopardy, and their quarterback situation is making matters worse. Dak Prescott could be out for an extended period of time, leaving backup quarterback Cooper Rush to fill the void. However, in the game against the Eagles, Rush completed only 13 of 23 passes and advanced only 45 yards. His performance was not satisfactory. In fact, the situation became so dire that third-string quarterback Trey Lance was brought in, a move that highlighted the team’s current woes.
Owner Jerry Jones, known for his high expectations, is unhappy with the current situation. As the Cowboys prepare for their next home game against the Houston Texans, hope for a turnaround is mixed with anxiety that could further extend this frustrating streak.
