Phase 2 Dig that was responsible for the excavation of Porpanaikottai State Archaeological Department archaeological site existed in Pudu Kotai District Five have been unearthed copper nails.
A 3 cm long rod also made of copper antimony was discovered. Up to now, in this period, 424 cultural relics including beads of glass, bracelets of glass, ironware as well as bronzeware have been dug up.
Four copper nails were found in ditch A22 and one in ditch C20. Previously there had been discovery of iron nails unlike the copper ones for the first time like it has happened now. “In fact, continued finding of copper made objects at the excavations is a good signal.

After several castle remains and antique finds were discovered at Porpanaikottai archaeological excavations started there. The state government launched the second stage of excavation works in June.
