Protesting students in Patna have demanded cancellation of the Comprehensive Comprehensive (Preliminary) Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024 to be conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) on December 13.

Paswan lauded the state government’s efforts in starting a dialogue with students, stressing that the issue should be resolved peacefully without political interference.
In his X post, he further condemned the Lati accusations and the use of water cannons bihar police Dispersing protesting students in Patna on Sunday. He called on the police to exercise restraint and stressed the need for peaceful resolution of students’ demands.
Additionally, Paswan urged legal action against any police officer who used excessive force.
“I have never been a supporter of yesterday’s lathi accusations and the use of water cannons on students in Patna. The police should exercise restraint. If students take to the streets to raise demands, efforts should be made to resolve their issues by explaining in a peaceful manner They, instead of using lathi charges and water cannons, I also told the Chief Minister that legal action should also be taken against those policemen found involved in such activities.

Following the incident, the Bihar police registered an FIR against 600-700 people, including Jan Suraaj chief Prashant Kishore, accusing them of holding unauthorized gatherings at Gandhi Maidan, inciting people and creating law and order problems.
In an official statement, the Patna government said, “Permission of the Jan Suraj Party to organize Chhatra Sansad in front of the Gandhi statue was denied. However, crowds gathered in front of the Gandhi statue, creating a law and order problem. A scuffle broke out between the two parties. .
“Gandhi Maidan police station has booked 600 to 700 people, including Jan Suraaj chief Prashant Kishore, for unauthorized gathering of crowds, inciting people and creating law and order problem,” the Patna administration added.
