Car vandalism: Police files FIR against 166 people after violence in Varanasi

Varanasi: Following recent incidents of car vandalism and police misconduct, police have chobepur police station Sub-inspector Tunnu Singh conducted an investigation against 16 named persons and 150 unidentified persons. Police are conducting raids to arrest the accused.
According to reports, at around 7:30 pm on December 25, Kodopur resident Naththu Rajbhar (45 years old) was run over by a car near Shahpur Bridge and died on the spot. He was riding his bicycle home when the incident occurred.
Since his village was only 1 km away from the accident scene, family members and villagers quickly gathered together.
People became agitated when SI Tunnu Singh tried to drive to the police station. They started vandalizing cars and trying to set them on fire.
People in the crowd also behaved inappropriately towards the police, placing bodies on the road and blocking traffic. After receiving the message, ADCP Varuna Saravanan T and DCP Varuna Zone Chandrakant Meena arrived along with police personnel from nearby stations. They dispersed the crowd, cleared the blockade, and then calmed the agitated crowd.
Subsequently, a case was registered on December 27 against Ramashram, Dharmendra Rajbhar, Sejal, Sonu, Badhu, Bindu Rajbhar, Rinku Rajbhar and BaRajan Rajbhar and Surendra Patel, Paras, Godhan, Vishal Rajbhar, BaRajan Rajbhar and Surendra Patel from Taliya village of Kodopur , Paras, Godhan, Vishal Rajbhar, BaRajan Rajbhar and other two men’s cases.
Currently, the police manhunt is still ongoing and the accused villagers have fled their homes.
