The court admitted that there have been paper leaks and emphasized that if the sanctity of the examination is lost then it will have to be retaken.
There cannot be a retest without examining how much this leak is. “You don’t cancel entire exam because two students cheated. So, what we will have to see is – what is nature of such leak? What is extent of such leak when we are dealing with 23 lakh students?” he said, SC judge.
SC told us about this:
“If these question papers get leaked out through Telegram, WhatsApp or electronic means then it will go like wildfire. Otherwise if there is spread over social media,” a retest must be ordered.”
CJI Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra questioned whether enough action has been taken against the miscreants and their mentors, saying, “We have to be ruthless against these miscreants and those who are beneficiaries of the leak of documents. What action has been taken by the government?”
