New Delhi: Several schools in Delhi received bomb threats via email on Monday morning. The five schools that received these threats were delhi public schools Schools in Vasant Kunj and RK Puram, GD Goenka School and Doon Public School in Paschim Vihar and Brilliant’s Convent School in Pitampura.
The schools were targeted by a threatening email that claimed there were hidden bombs planted in the school buildings. The email claimed multiple bombs were strategically placed in the building, posing a significant threat to students and staff.
The anonymous sender demanded $30,000 and warned that failure to comply would result in a bomb exploding. School management immediately took action and sent students home. Parents are asked to pick up their children as a precaution.
The email also contains a disturbing and threatening tone, with the sender saying: “You all deserve to suffer and lose limbs.” A Delhi Fire Service official confirmed that fire engines have been dispatched to the affected schools: GD Goenka, Paschim Vihar The school was dispatched at 6.15 am, DPS RK Puram at 7.06 am and Brilliant’s Convent School in Pitampura at 8 am. Fire officials said necessary safety checks are being conducted at all locations.
In addition, the email also claimed that although these bombs are small in size, they are very cleverly hidden and difficult to detect.
