The dead bodies of 28 devotees who died in a bus accident in central Iran on their way to attend a major Shiite Muslim ceremony have been sent back to Pakistan.
An Iranian state TV report said the bus, which was taking 51 Pakistani pilgrims to Iraq for Arbaeen commemoration, one of the largest events on the Shiite calendar, flipped over and caught fire at a checkpoint in Yazd province last Tuesday night.
These bodies were moved from Yazd to an airstrip in southern Pakistan where most of them came from originally.
In front of an AFP journalist, coffins covered with Pakistani flags arrived at midnight Friday at Jacobabad city, and very many ambulances transported them to their communities.
Other injured pilgrims were transferred to Karachi hospitals following the incident
Among those killed were 11 women and 17 men; this is what Ali Malek-zadeh head of the crisis management office in Yazd province told local media organization.
