Recently, there was a dispute involving BLACKPINK’s Jennie. This happened when she was caught vaping indoors during preparation for Capri, an incident that unintentionally got featured in her blog. Especially since many countries have outlawed cigarette smoking within buildings, this led to immediate public outrage. Furthermore, someone reported Jenny to Italian authorities who may take legal action against her.
In response to the commotion, the Chosun Sports Daily stated that an anonymous attendant at the waiting area of Jacques Mousse Show where this took place came forward to clarify the situation. According to them: “the video is shot in Jaquemus’ backstage where it is actually allowed for people to smoke.” She opened the window and smoked like that after asking if she could smoke.
Accordingly, as claimed by the attendant present: “While we were looking for lip products, Jennie took a sip from a bubble pen sold at convenient stores”. This coincided with her blowing out smoke at that time. She kept apologizing after the show ended. It was over, and some also said it doesn’t count because they are smokers” added another staff member on condition of anonymity.
They went on to say: “…But I think it’s inappropriate mentioning her past conduct as part of an attitude controversy (regarding this case). I left a comment as one of my friends on SNS ‘cause I felt sorry for my friend who had been misunderstood until now.” Since 2005 any form of indoor smoking has been banned in Italy irrespective of possible onsite licensing and became extended towards e-cigarettes starting from 2014.
