Visiting the residence of Tamilisai Sandrarajanon, former governor and bjp Candidate for South Chennai constituency on Friday, BJP President of India Annamalai has come to visit.
The meeting that took place unexpectedly comes at a time when there have been speculations about an internal party conflict between BJP’s Tamil Nadu wing over its performance in the state’s recent assembly elections. Please have a seat.
A picture was posted on social media after the meeting as a tribute to Soundararajan’s political know-how by Anamalai. With reference to this post, Annamalai said “Tamil Nadu will surely bloom with lotus and Tamilisai Soundararajan has worked hard for it; her continuous political experience and counsel inspire party growth. ..
Annamalai’s post was also shared by Tamilisai Soundarajan who stated that she was glad to meet him.
According to sources, discontent within the BJP is blamed on Annamalai’s leadership which led to defeat in the polls and he ended his alliance with AIADMK.
Internal wrangling reached its peak when Tamilisai Soundarajan publicly criticized Annamalai faction for losing from South Chennai constituency. This attracted criticism from followers of Annnmaliai on facebook leading to further divisions among the party faithfuls.
This sparked a row following a video clip showing Amit Shah seemingly rebuking Tamilisai Soundarajan during Chandrababu Naidu swearing-in function in Andhra Pradesh. Tamilisaithe later clarified that Shah had not condemned her comments but rather given advice.
On Thursday night, while posting an X message, Soundararajan said she met Shah at first after announcement of lok sabha election results were out and they discussed “post-poll follow-up.”
“Yesterday I met with our distinguished Home Minister Sri @AmitShaji for the first time in AP after the 2024 elections. He made an enquiry on post poll follow up and challenges to me. “I responded that he should have put it in a very reassuring way as I explained due to time constraints,” she said.
