TRICHY: The Seamless Steel Pipe Plant (SSTP) Bell Trich conducted a simulated fire drill on Friday to assess the readiness of its emergency response and rescue system in fire accidents.
The event which took place in SSTP Yard at around 2 PM was supervise by Joint Director Industrial Safety and Health R Vimala.
The plant has two LPG spheres each having a capacity of 40 tons.
Industrial safety administration officials expressed their gratitude to mutual aid program teams for conducting this activity simulation exercise, which demonstrates the prompt action taken by the team during an emergency situation.
Also representing Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), Trichy Ordnance Factory (OFT), Airports Authority of India (AAI), Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Service (TNFRS) and High Energy Projectile Factory (HEPF) were some observers present during the exercise.
Mutual aid scheme involving fire brigades from HEPF, OFT and TNFRS also joined with BHEL’s Fire Department, Trichy for carrying out simulated fire drills.
