BENGALURU: Ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi festival, Bengaluru Electric Supply Company (bescom) has announced a temporary connection with Panda and idol immersion event.
Different from previous years, this year Bescom has made power infrastructure Must be reviewed before being provided to all pandals temporary connection.All festival organizers have been told to call 1912 in the event of any electrical incident.
Apart from No objection certificate (NoC) Local authorities including BBMP, BDA or District Police Station, Assistant Executive Engineer or Assistant Engineer should go to the pandal for inspection.
Bescom’s official statement said: “Bescom will grant permission only after obtaining a favorable report from the AEE or AE.”
All divisional authorities have been directed to immediately provide power connections as per regulations ensuring prompt coordination with local authority officials.
In addition, registered electrical contractors must issue certificates of completion for safety wiring, installation of miniature circuit breakers and earthing inspection and approval (EIA). Only then will Bescom jurisdictional officials visit the pandal area to provide temporary connections and meters. \

“All lines should be properly insulated, panda event organizers should avoid contact with electric poles while erecting tandem lights, and no shamianas, tents or banners should be pasted on transmission lines, electric poles and substations,” the guidelines said.
