According to a Cricbuzz report, it would not be surprising if BCCI chooses to release the policy around the time of the Annual General Meeting (AGM), which is scheduled to be held in Bengaluru on September 29.
BCCI is yet to establish a clear link between AGM and IPL launch Retention policy. Still, the board may catch everyone off guard by unveiling the policy in the coming days. However, the prevailing sentiment among IPL officials suggests that the announcement may be delayed anywhere from 10 days to two weeks.
While no official statement has been made on the delay, BCCI representatives are understood to have hinted to franchises who have recently inquired about the retention guidelines that the announcement may be postponed.
