Babar Azam, the Pakistan Cricket Captain, is believed to be considering suing YouTubers and former cricketers who have claimed that he did not behave well at the T20 World Cup. Similarly, an article by Geo News suggests that the Pakistan Cricket Board is gathering evidences for this cause in a court of law.
However, what ensued were immense criticisms given their poor performance during the tournament which resulted into them exiting in the group stages. Amidst all these allegations, there are claims now that the team captain is somewhat disheartened.
An ANI report reveals that a coordinated social media campaign aimed at defaming Babar was launched during the World Cup. The PCB’s legal department has started investigations on accused YouTube users and former cricket players.
Many team members returned home on a private flight after its early exit form the tournament and landed at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport on Wednesday morning. The returning players included Naseem Shah, Usman Khan, and Senior Manager Wahab Riaz among others.
On another note though, some of them including Babar Azam, Imad Wasim Haris Rauf Shadab Khan and Azam Khan had opted to remain in America for sometime.
The fans’ disappointment also extended towards their early exit when they could not even go beyond group stage like they did as runners-up during previous T-20 world tournament; this caused a lot of backlash from different quarters on both social media platforms.
