
New Delhi: am admi party convener Arvind Kejriwal will run for election indian block Candidates in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, sources said on Thursday.
Arvind Kejriwal is likely to contest from the Assembly seat where the AAP has a volunteer base and the MVA candidate has no controversial background.
Sources further stated, “Shiv Sena-UBT and NCP-SP have approached the Aam Aadmi Party to let Arvind Kejriwal contest in Maharashtra.”
“Kejriwal is likely to contest from the Assembly seat where AAP has a volunteer base and the MVA candidate does not have a controversial background. Apart from Kejriwal, other senior leaders of AAP will also campaign for the MVA candidate.”
Kejriwal is also expected to campaign for the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) candidate in Jharkhand.
“Arvind Kejriwal will campaign from the seats and his appeal will translate into Bloc India votes, especially in urban seats,” sources said.
Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate earlier this year in connection with the Delhi excise policy case but was released from Tihar jail last month after being granted bail by the Supreme Court.
Maharashtra Assembly Elections
The Maharashtra assembly elections are scheduled to be held on November 20 and counting of votes in 288 constituencies is scheduled to take place on November 23.
The main contest will be between the Mahayutthi alliance (BJP, NCP-Ajit Pawar and Shiv Sena-Eknath Shinde) and MVA Alliance (Congress, Shiv Sena-UBT and NCP-Sharad Pawar).
In Jharkhand, the assembly elections will be held in two phases on November 13 and November 20, with the counting date being November 23.
The BJP is contesting in alliance with AJSU, JD-U and LJP, while the JMM, RJD and Congress are contesting together.
