Anupamaa actor Rupali Ganguly’s stepdaughter Esha Verma has filed a Rs 50-crore defamation case against her. She expressed her thoughts, calling the incident extremely disturbing and harsh, noting that it revealed, among other things, the true nature of the individuals involved.
Esha also criticized her father Ashwin Verma in her remarks. She clarified to her half-brother Rudransh that she “never involved minors”. Aisha said in her details that this would be her “last statement on the subject.”
“Hi, my name is Esha Verma, and earlier this month I made the difficult decision to share a personal story involving my father and my upbringing. This decision sparked widespread outrage on social media and the public. Pay attention. Speaking out was the hardest thing I have ever done, but it also became a turning point in my life. It brought clarity, peace, and freedom from years of silence. I noticed that this affected more than just me. Affecting my friends and loved ones I will handle it with the utmost care (sic),” she wrote.
The 24-year-old mentioned in her note that she never had any intention of harming anyone. “For 24 years, I felt trapped in an inescapable reality. Sharing my experiences was my way of finding freedom and justice. My intention was never to cause harm, but to shed light on the experiences that shaped me. By doing so “I want to be a voice for others who may be facing similar struggles, especially when it comes to family dynamics. As an American citizen, I have and have exercised my right to speak honestly (sic),” she added.
In another part of the note, Ayesha criticized Rupali and her father Ashwin.
“To address an important issue: children should not be punished for telling the truth. Even though I am a young man, I am still my father’s child. Their reaction to my remarks was disturbing and cruel , and show their true character.
At the end of the note, Esha explained her decision to deactivate her accounts on various social media platforms.
“This will be my final statement on the matter. The purpose of this statement is simply to clear up any misunderstandings and resolve the uncertainty surrounding my story and the response it has received. There is no intention to inflame further on this issue. I will not be involved Any interviews, further discussion or comments regarding this situation. My focus now is on healing, rebuilding and embracing the next chapter of my life,” she concluded.
Rupali issued a defamation notice of Rs 50 crore to Esha after she shared a long video on Instagram criticizing Rupali and Ashwin. In response, Aisha deleted the video and switched her account to private. According to Rupali’s lawyer, Esha is yet to respond to the notice.
