New Delhi: The Lok Sabha and the Lok Sabha were adjourned for the fifth consecutive day on Friday as the opposition demanded a discussion on the US-based Gautam Adani prosecution, the situation in Manipur and the Sambhal violence.
Both chambers will resume session on December 2.
When the House met at 11 am, opposition members immediately started shouting slogans and Congress and Samajwadi Party MPs rushed to the well. As a result, the House could only answer two questions during Question Hour and Speaker Om Birla was forced to adjourn the session to 12 noon.

Opposition protests continued when the House of Representatives reconvened. Despite the ongoing disruption, some ministers still managed to submit documents and make statements amid the raucous protests.
The winter session of Parliament began on November 25, with both houses adjourned early due to disruptions. The meeting is expected to last until December 20.
“Rule 267 is being weaponized”
Following the presentation of the listed documents during the morning meeting, Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar announced the receipt of 17 notices seeking postponement of scheduled business under House Rule 267.
The Chairman dismissed all notices.
The decision sparked protests by many opposition lawmakers, who began chanting slogans. Danka, visibly disturbed, said: “I call on you (MPs) to reflect deeply. Rule 267 is being weaponized as a mechanism of destruction.”
Opposition MPs, including MPs, objected to the announcement. Before adjourning the day’s proceedings, he noted that similar issues had been raised several times, leading to the loss of three working days.
Parliament faces multiple prorogations
The Congress party questioned the government’s passive stance on the ongoing disruption in Parliament, singling out the government’s unusual practice of allowing the Indian bloc to act assertively, particularly on the Adani issue.

The Congress leader’s speech came after the House of Commons was adjourned, with opposition lawmakers protesting against rejection of the adjournment notice, demanding a discussion of the allegations against the Adani group and the violence in Manipur and Sambhar.
